Scope and Topics

This workshop intends to be a forum for discussion of research issues related to temporal analysis of remotely sensed data.  Since the launch of Landsat-1 in 1972, a large number of earth observation satellites have been launched.  The wealth of multitemporal data provides excellent opportunities to study environmental changes at local, regional and global scale. The workshop includes a wide arrays of topics such as:

•    Multitemporal image calibration and correction
•    Landsat, NOAA AVHRR, MODIS, MERIS, SPOT VGT Data Archive
•    Multitemporal SAR and InSAR data analysis
•    Cross-sensor satellite data - data fusion
•    Methodology for analysis of temporal data
•    Change detection methods
•    Landuse and land cover dynamics
•    Vegetation dynamics and ecological processes
•    Applications of multitemporal data

Venue

The Workshop will be hosted at the Royal Myconian Hotel on Mykonos Island, Greece (http://www.royalmyconian.gr).

Mykonos can be reached by plane or by ferry. There are many direct flights from most of the European countries to the International Airport of Mykonos (JMK) during the summer season. There are also many flights per day from Athens International Airport "El. Venizelos" to Mykonos Airport. For more information please visit one of the following airline companies' website to book online:

1. Olympic Air
2. Aegean Airlines

There are also many ferries travelling from Piraeus or Rafina Port to Mykonos. The trip depending the type of the ferry takes between 2 and 6 hours.
From Piraeus you can board the Blue Star, Hellenic Sea Ways and Aegean Speed Lines. Alternatively you can get a boat from Rafina with the following shipping companies: Blue Star, Hellenic Saw Ways, Cyclades Fast Ferries and Sea Jets. The island is generally considered to be relatively small. Public transports are well organized and consistent, but if you want to avoid overcrowding you can hire either a motorbike or a car. The town offers two large municipal parking places where you can park.

Further information about Mykonos Island can be found at the Municipality of Mykonos website.
